Privacy Policy — Keto Coach

This Privacy Policy describes how Keto Coach ("the App", "we") collects, uses, and protects your information.

No account required

Keto Coach does not require you to create an account or sign in. Your personal data — your profile answers, daily plan, habit history, and streaks — is stored locally on your device. We do not collect your name, email, or precise location.

Information We Collect

• Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) and PostHog Inc. (United States) to collect anonymized usage data — screens viewed, feature usage, device type, OS version, and approximate region. The same events go to both: Firebase for advertising-conversion measurement, PostHog for product analytics (retention, funnels). Because the App has no accounts, these are tied only to a random per-install identifier, not to you. This contains no personal content and helps us improve the App.
• Crash data: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash diagnostics (device state, stack traces). Crash data contains no personal content.
• Ask the coach (AI food check): When you use this feature, the short food description you type is sent to our server function (Supabase) and to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate a keto verdict. We do not store this text or link it to you; our analytics records only a coarse length bucket and the verdict category (OK / careful / no).
• Feedback you send us: If you tap Me → Send feedback, the App opens your own email app with a message pre-filled. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can edit or delete any part of it first — including the diagnostic block (app version, operating system, which day of the plan you are on, and the first 8 characters of your random install id). We keep the emails you send us in order to reply and to fix what you report.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not collect more than the App needs to function.

How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain App functionality
• Generate the AI food-check verdict you request
• Understand aggregate usage to improve features
• Detect and fix crashes and bugs

Data Storage and Retention

Your personal data lives on your device. You can permanently delete all of it at any time from within the App (Me → Delete all my data). Analytics and crash data are retained per Firebase's standard retention settings. Food descriptions sent for an AI check are processed to produce a verdict and are not retained by us.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Because your data is stored on your device, you can delete it directly in the App; for any other request, contact us.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
